About
Hi, I'm Simon — a geospatial analyst, imagery specialist, and photographer based in Solana Beach, California.
I hold an MSc with Distinction in Remote Sensing & GIS and have spent the better part of two decades working at the intersection of spatial data, intelligence, and technology. My career has taken me from imagery exploitation roles with the UK Ministry of Defence — analysing Full Motion Video, SAR, and UAS data in high-stakes environments — to cloud infrastructure and vulnerability management roles, where I've built automated data pipelines and translate complex technical data into actionable insights for enterprise clients.
On the technical side, I work with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, Python, and AWS. I'm drawn to problems that sit at the edge of geography, data, and visual storytelling — whether that's mapping pre-Islamic archaeological sites from satellite imagery or building spatial workflows that make sense of messy real-world data.
This site is a space for the work I do outside the day job: maps, photography, and projects that explore the world through a spatial lens.
